On the return trip to Dublin from Kinsale we visited the most famous building in all of the Ireland…. Blarney Castle. To kiss the Blarney Stone. Why? To kiss the Blarney Stone is to gain the gift of eloquence. Especially after a couple of Guinness.
Following today’s 9th and final round on the tour, at the amazing Old Head Golf Links, the Shamrock Cup champion is…. MikeL. To win the Shamrock Cup, Mike jumped 5 places from 6th to 1st over the final two playoff rounds at Old Head.

Round 9 was the final round of the tour and played for the second day in a row at the spectacular Old Head Golf Links.
The weather was poor. The wind was blowing all day and the rain started by the second hole and did not let up. If the Round 3 at Doonbeg was a 10 on a scale of 10 for the worst weather any of us had every played in then Round 9 at Old Head was a solid 8 out of 10. To play Old Head along the cliffs on a good day is a challenge. But to play it with the wind up and the rain coming at you sideways was quite an experience.
The Low Net winner of the day and the overall winner of the Shamrock Cup was MikeL.
