While scanning some old photo prints I came across these pictures from the The Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, from 1995 with my new bride. This course sits on the beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene and includes the famous floating green. We stopped for the day at this course on our drive back to the east coast from Vancouver.
The floating green is connected to the shore and the lake bed by cables and can be moved every day into a new location. Golfers take the little boat, named Putter, out to the green. I remember the shot was a 7-iron that day and I was able to hit the green, but once we arrived on the green we realized the target is much larger than it appeared from the shore. Although larger than #17 at TPC Sawgrass, the green is floating in an enormous lake which makes the green look a lot smaller than it is.
